5 weeks into term and I think it’s time for a holiday. Too much work. Too much play. I need to relax.
Where should I go?
Good food, good culture, good relaxation possibilities!
The video is hypnotic, the song is gorgeous…Gotye, I salute you.
p.s. Anyone else think Kimbra sounds EXACTLY like Katy Perry?

*excuse the cheeky language…unavoidable*
The strange phenomenon of viral blogs… such as the one I have linked above. Having two very dapper brothers, I have been aware of the thrill of red trousers for a few years now…but they have hit the mainstream, and cannot be avoided. Enjoyed by young and old alike, as the blog shows, everyone can get in on some red trouser lovin’ action!
On the website, the trendsetters are divided into ‘toffs”, ‘hipsters”, ‘lunatics” and ‘notable wearers”…which camp will you fall into?
In the meantime men, buy your trus from coggles.com. For £60, you could become a viral sensation too.
Girls, get in on the action too and head on down to Topshop. I’ll race you!
How do adverts always throw up the most beautiful, understated songs? Songs that I adore and, if not for the advert, would never have gained the opportunity to listen to? How long must the researchers trawl through reels of tape to find the perfect song to fit with the mood of the product or capture the vibe that their product is trying to fit in with?
The root of these questions, of course, came after watching an advert for an amazon kindle. My brother has one, and whilst I think that they are a great idea, I am a book girl. I love books. When they are new and you fold back and un-creased page of the first time. When they are worn and the pages have been thumbed back more times than you can to think. But non- the – less, this advert even makes me want to get a kindle. The song is lovers’ carvings by Bibio. A song I had never heard of by a band that I have never heard of. And this is the beauty of adverts; you may not want the products they are trying to flog, and they may irritate you when they break up the action of a movie you are watching or slice the suspense in your favourite TV drama, but they throw up great songs.
As the top comment on the video states; Sorry, but how is it humanly possible to dislike this song?!
The perfect summer song!

With the rain in England lashing down, meaning that going outside is just not a plausible option, listening to good music, with good company, or a good book, is the perfect antidote.
Today, I am feeling Dustbowl Dance by Mumford and Sons…
